The Philadelphia Community Orchestra (PCO) is an eclectic instrumental ensemble open to all ages (participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult) and skill levels—no previous musical experience is required. PCO focuses on experimental, improvised, and alternative music-making. Repertoire includes rare and underperformed music of the past, graphic and text scores, group improvisations, and works specifically composed for PCO.
The only requirements for prospective members are that they bring their own instrument, commit to regularly attending rehearsals, and foster a collaborative spirit and open mind. (And yes, there is no audition!)
Rehearsals are held approximately every other Saturday from 4pm-6:30pm at SLATE Church: 330 S 13th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107. See Rehearsal Schedule for details.
